The short answer

- You're asked to switch on "Install unknown apps" for your browser or messaging app.
- The app wants access to SMS, Accessibility or "Display over other apps".
- Free credit, a bonus or a prize is offered for installing it.
How to protect your Android phone
- Keep "Install unknown apps" switched off. You'll usually find it under Settings › Apps › Special app access, though the exact path varies by phone.
- Keep Google Play Protect on. Open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Play Protect, and run a scan.
- Check permissions. Be very wary of any app that asks for SMS or Accessibility access when that clearly isn't its job.
- Stay up to date. Install Android and banking-app updates promptly.
The safe alternative: add the site to your home screen
If you'd like one-tap access, save cyl88.quest to your home screen. You get a CYL88 icon that opens the website. Nothing else is installed, and it can't read your messages or touch your banking apps.

- Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.

Already installed a CYL88 APK?
- Disconnect. Turn on airplane mode to cut the app off from the internet.
- Remove its access. Check Settings › Accessibility and your device admin apps, and switch off anything you don't recognise.
